What do I need to request social roots? Requirements
Social roots is an authorization due to exceptional circumstances that provides the opportunity for foreign citizens to reside and work in Spain for an initial period of one year, with the possibility of modifying it later.
Among others, you will need to meet the following requirements to request social roots:
1. Permanence in Spain for 3 consecutive years: To begin the process of applying for social roots, it is essential to have lived continuously in Spain for three years.
2. Employment Contract: One of the essential requirements is to have an employment contract signed between the applicant and the employer.
This contract must guarantee, at a minimum, the minimum interprofessional salary.
In the agricultural sector, two or more contracts can be presented with different employers, as long as they are concatenated.
In addition, the presentation of several contracts in the same or different occupation is allowed, working partially and simultaneously for more than one employer.
The duration of the contract must be at least 30 hours per week. In exceptional cases, it may be 20 hours per week if the applicant has dependent minors or people who need support to exercise their legal capacity. In this case, the salary will be proportional to the contracted hours.
3. Absence of Criminal Record: It is imperative that the applicant does not have a criminal record. Verifying this condition is an essential step to obtain authorization for social roots.
4. Social Integration Report: Generally speaking, a social integration report is required as part of the application process. This report evaluates the applicant's adaptation to Spanish society, considering aspects such as knowledge of the language, participation in the community and willingness to fully integrate.
